Atenolol Tablets
Atenolol is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. It also is used to prevent angina (chest pain) and improve survival after a heart attack. Atenolol is in a class of medications called beta blockers. The effectiveness of β-adrenoceptor blockade was demonstrated by the fact that, as previously described [32], atenolol decreased resting heart rate by 11% and systolic and diastolic BP by 15 and 16%, respectively.
