Description

ropicamide is a chemical compound used in eye drops to dilate the pupil for diagnostic procedures and eye surgeries. It's also used to test for narrow-angle glaucoma.How it works Tropicamide is an anticholinergic drug that works by blocking the parasympathetic constrictor muscle in the iris. This allows the sympathetic dilator muscles to take over, causing the pupil to dilate. The pupil usually dilates within 15 minutes and remains dilated for about 4–5 hours. When it's used Tropicamide is used before eye exams, cataract surgery, retinal surgery, and other ocular procedures.It's also used to test for narrow-angle glaucoma
